white radish: raw to promote digestion, cooked to eat can be smooth. White radish has the good reputation of “native ginseng”, the content of vitamin C and trace element zinc is high, and the content of dietary fiber is also very rich. White radish is cold in nature and sweet in taste. It can eliminate accumulated food, dissipate phlegm and clear away heat. When eaten raw, its pungent ingredients can promote the secretion of gastric juice, adjust gastrointestinal function, and have anti-inflammatory effects. When cooked, it can nourish Qi and smooth Qi. It can be stewed with pork and mutton. It can also be used to make soup with crucian carp and kelp. White radish partial cold, spleen and stomach deficiency cold, gastric ulcer people are not suitable to eat more.

lotus root: raw can clear heat, cooked can strengthen the spleen. Autumn is the time when fresh lotus root comes into the market, there is a saying: “autumn lotus root is the most tonic”. Lotus root is rich in calcium, phosphorus and other trace elements, iron content is the most in tuber food, in addition, the content of dietary fiber is also high, which is conducive to intestinal peristalsis. Lotus root is cold and sweet in taste, can clear away heat and produce body fluid, and relieve blood heat symptoms such as hot and dry body. Two weeks after delivery, eating lotus root can help lochia discharge. The cooked lotus root can be made into “sweet scented glutinous rice lotus root”, or made into lotus balls with rice and meat stuffing. It can also be stewed with yam and spareribs. If you are a person with deficiency of spleen and stomach, it is recommended to steam lotus root before eating.


Chestnut: eat raw to remove blood stasis, cooked to tonify the kidney. Chestnut is sweet and warm, rich in potassium, calcium, vitamin C, and high in starch content. Raw chestnut can promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and prevent arteriosclerosis to a certain extent. Cooked food can help kidney. “Compendium of Materia Medica” records: “chestnut can cure kidney deficiency, if the waist and feet are weak, eat 10 grains a day, and with pig waist to cook porridge to help, long-term will be strong.” There are many ways to eat chestnut cooked, which can be cooked with yam, walnuts, peanuts, etc., or as snacks or add meals. Stewed pig’s feet with chestnuts and soybeans is very helpful to relieve chapped feet and heel pain of middle-aged and old people in winter. But too much chestnuts are easy to catch fire, so people with dry and hot constitution should not eat too much.

Qiuli: eat raw Qinghuo, cooked Runfei. Qiuli is rich in B vitamins, pectin and polysaccharides. Autumn pear is cool in nature and sweet in taste. It can be used as rock sugar and Sydney juice raw food. It has the effect of promoting body fluid, relieving thirst, clearing heat and lowering fire. Cooked eating autumn pear can relieve cough and phlegm, moisten the lung to dry, slightly steaming the pear for a moment, very suitable for people with cold constitution to eat. It and Sichuan Fritillaria 10 grams, jiangmi, rock sugar equivalent stew, can moisten the lung and remove phlegm. It should be noted that people with deficiency of constitution and diabetes should not eat more.


apples: raw help appetizer, cooked can stop diarrhea. Apple is rich in potassium, iron, zinc, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C and other trace elements, known as “omnipotent fruit”. Eating raw apple can help appetizer, promote fluid and moisten lung. Apple contains tannic acid and pectin, after boiling, it has astringent effect, can reduce the water content in the stool, so as to stop diarrhea. Cooked to eat apples can be boiled water into fruit cans, or cooked with rice into fruit porridge to eat. People with ulcerative colitis and cold stomach symptoms should not eat raw apples. ▲
